I am excited to run for a third term on the Scotts Valley Fire District Board of Directors.
Please review my website to learn more about me, why I am running and what I want to accomplish.
I would greatly appreciate your support. Please vote for me on November 5th!
As a Board Member for the past eight years, I am proud to have contributed to important initiatives, including negotiating a new labor contract, hiring three Fire Chiefs, supporting both the facility and finance committees, and completing a feasibility study for future facility development.
I believe I can continue making a positive impact on our Fire District. My professional experience includes managing budgets to support, maintain, and meet the logistical needs of a fire department, while ensuring fiscal responsibility with taxpayer funds. I am committed to keeping our district financially sound while enhancing our services for the community.
Families are the fabric of our community and the very reason my wife, Traci, and I chose to settle here 26 years ago to raise our family. Our three adult children all attended Scotts Valley schools, participated in sports, and worked locally during high school and college. After college, our sons, Mitchell (with his wife Tessa and their newborn, Wesley) and Nathan (and his girlfriend, Jordenne), have remained in the area. Our daughter, Olivia, is a senior nursing student at the University of Portland and plans to return home after graduation next year.
It has been incredibly rewarding to serve our community and the families of Scotts Valley as a Board Member, and with your support, I look forward to continuing this service for the next four years.
I loved my career in the fire service, and I am deeply passionate about community safety. Serving as a Board Member allows me to continue doing my part to protect and enhance our district.
First and foremost, I am committed to keeping our local firefighters safe and healthy. Their well-being is essential to their ability to support and respond to the community's needs. The District has proposed a bond to replace a fire station that is no longer safe, and its immediate replacement is not just important to me but crucial for our entire community.
Second, I am passionate about improving our fire district’s emergency preparedness, response times, and community engagement. A new station, in a better location, will significantly enhance these efforts.
Lastly, I love Scotts Valley, and I want to continue serving the community that I call home and where I plan to stay. With your support, input, and vote, I can keep working toward a safer future for all of us.
